Scrapbooking

I started scrap booking my Senior year. The first one I ever did was for my boyfriend who just so happens to be my husband :)

I’m addicted to all things crafty and cute. There was a point when if it was on sale or if it was a buck I’d buy it- even if I didn’t need it; I have learned to control myself.

I have a bunch of cute Lil embellishments and stickers that I use for scrapbooking or homework projects and they were just thrown into tubs and drawers and it was bugging the heck out of me. Here is just a very tiny glimpse of my chaos:

I decided to use a photo box to organize them. I first cut out some pieces of card stock and labeled them with different categories.

And then I organized them by categories and now I have this:

Clutter drives me crazy. I feel so much better now. :)

Autumn’s Sweet Shop

My daugther Autumn (okay me too) have been obsessed with Sweet Shop stuff this last year. Everything about it is just so appealing to me. The bright colors, the cute cupcakes, smoothies and candy. Although the girls and I have quite the sweet tooth, Jalien’s sugar intake has to be limited so we don’t get to have a whole lot of sweets. Of course, birthday parties are always the exception so for Autumn’s 5th Birthday we did a Sweet Shop theme that came out super cute and gave us the opportunity to induldge in Sweets.

One of my many dreams is to open my own shop one day. One that sells sweets in all forms. Especially healthy ones in the form of fruit and yogurt, fresh squeezed juices and other “healthier” sweets. So last week when Autumn had to build something in the community such as a bakery, grocery store and so on, she decided she wanted to do a Sweet Shop. The most amazing part is that everything that was made to create this came right from inside our own lil craft room and garage.

Here are a few pictures of the great job she did!

Senate Bill 9

As a human service/ sociology major, as a citizen of the United States, as a mother, and as an Aunt to a 14 year old boy sentenced to life in Prison- I urge you to read about this Bill. I support it fully. There have been so many cases that deserve to be looked at one more time. There are repeated felons who are less worthy of a second chance who get it. I understand that not everyone may agree with me, but all I ask is that you simply read into it and consider voting for it.

You can sign it here:

10 reasons I love God.

  1. He gave me an undeserved life.
  2. He has always loved me and always will.
  3. Whenever i need Him, He is always there.
  4. He gave His one and only son so i could live.
  5. He gives me food, water, and shelter.
  6. He made me special in a sea of people.
  7. He gave me free will.
  8. He made a beautiful world.
  9. His forgiveness amazes me.
  10. And last, He knows what is best for me.

I am praying for this family and that the Lord provides greatly.

Mother’s Day Weekend

Friday

Every year one of the boosters from the Football program invites us to his box to watch the 66ers play. The 66ers are a minor league baseball team in San Bernardino and for the past few years we have been going so this past Friday we spent the evening with out football families, eating prime rib, funnel cakes, and cotton candy from executive seats. The girls had a great time spending time with some of their favorite friends. (This was taken with my phone. Not the greatest quality picture :/)

Saturday

Since I became a mommy it has been a tradition that we take my mom out on Saturday. My mom has never been one for partying on a Sunday when she has to work the next day. We took her out for Steak and Lobster and enjoyed some great quality Mother/Daughter bonding. Here’s a picture of my sisters and I with our Mom.

Citos and the girls couldn’t wait for Mother’s Day to give me my gift so they loved on me with quite a few new outfits that I absolutely loved.

Sunday

Sunday morning I was startled by a splash and  the sound of a little mouse whispering “Happy Mother’s (Insert splash sound here as Coffee Drops on my bedroom Floor) Day Mommy.” Citos had woke up at 645 to go grab me my favorite Starbucks drink. I felt so bad as I watched him run over to pick it up off the floor and the sounds of I’m sorry coming from Jae. I reassured her it was okay and looked at my husband to remind him that it was the thought that counted- and it was. I appreciated every little and big thing my girls and honey did for me this weekend.

We hosted a Mother’s Day/Birthday Dinner for the girls Great-Grandmother. Seriously how lucky is it that my girls have so many grandparents in their lives. I grew up without any. So being able to watch the love they share with so many melts my heart to pieces. We were able to get in a group shot. This is my husbands moms side of the family.

I was sad that I did not get a picture of me and my girls this year, but at least I have this group one to remember it by.

Maternity Photo Shoot

Last week I took pictures of a beautiful mommy to be and her husband, who so happens to be my nephew. There are a few things I would have done differently. The white on white made it difficult for us to see her baby bump which was supposed to be the main focus of the portraits.
